v0.6.2, and a new player in development
Bandcrash » Devlog
Once again I failed to not work on this all day.
New features for Bandcrash:
- Fixed an annoying bug that would cause internal data to get saved out to the album file
- Added keyboard accessibility
- Track listing now shows the track number
- Added undo and redo actions
- Added support for marking a track “explicit” (for example)
I also started working on an all-new player that is designed the way I want it to be, per yesterday’s ramble. For now I’m calling it “camptown,” and I’m building it as a separate Python package mostly to make development easier but also so that someone might be able to integrate it into things on its own.
Some of the things I’m doing with it:
- Using the browser’s native
<audio>
controls, for better accessibility, built-in volume control, AirPlay/ChromeCast support, etc. - Doing as much as possible with semantic-style HTML and CSS tricks
- Enabling lyrics and extended information within the player interface
- Focusing on accessibility wherever possible
