v0.7.5 released
Bandcrash » Devlog
I haven’t worked on bandcrash in a while but I’ve been working on preparing a huge album lately and in doing so I realized that the way I handle preview files could be a lot better. The big change is that preview files are given an opaque filename that’s based on the file contents, and there’s no longer per-track id3 data included either. This has the following benefits:
- It speeds up the encode/upload process when you change the track ordering
- It makes downloading the web preview less desirable for people who want the album without paying for it
- If multiple tracks share the same source file (as rare a situation as that is) they’ll reuse the same encode output file
