Just some aesthetic faffing about
Instead of working on a Ludum Dare entry I've been fiddling around with some of the minor aesthetics of Little Bouncing Ball, namely changing the score font to be more in keeping with the era I'm going for (retro-futuristic 1970s arcade). I settled on the venerable Century Gothic.
Well, I also did some internal plumbing to continue to prepare for there being more than one game in the collection. You might notice that the game fades in when it starts, and at the end it fades out and then restarts. That is all part of that.
Oh, and I also made it so that if you toggle fullscreen (by pressing 'F') the game pauses while the screen reconfigures itself, which is supremely important on Mac and not a particularly terrible thing to do on Windows. I also refactored a bunch of how pausing works internally to support that (as well as the aforementioned game transitions).
The way I have things set up I could actually crossfade between games fairly easily. Not sure if I'll do that or what. I gotta actually get a second game in the collection before it makes sense to do that!
